Rabbi Shlomo b. Aderet, 1235 – 1310, Barcelona. Student of Ramban and Rabbeinu Yona, teacher of Ritva. In addition to his essential commentary on the Talmud he wrote a foundational code of Jewish Law called Torah ha-Bayit (as well as a defense of his work called mishmeret ha-bayit). His correspondence with Abba Mari b. Moshe in Minchat Kenaot gives us a fascinating window into the debates around philosophy at the time.
